Before coming up with the concept of the Tulou Mail Box, I explored three different design ideas that I describe below.
Experiment 1 - double sided posters
Pros
Build the concepts of connection and disconnection.
Easy to read
Cons
Plain
Lack of connection to the concept of the project
Experiment 2 - Two Brochures
To enhance the concept of connection and disconnection, I created two brochures for revision.
Pros
Multi-folded
Unity and consistent
Design enhanced “connection” and “disconnection”

Cons
Multi-folded - lack of back side
Binding of disconnection brochure not showing how it suppose to display
Experiment 3 - Two Brochures
The brochure of connection was in modernism style at first, however as I show it to the class, they all felt the different way. Connection means to display the past residents life style, and therefore have it relate to Chinese style would be more reasonable.
Illustration and photos with text helps audiences to get a better understanding.
Pros
French Fold - create a sense of connection
Two different styles - help to differ
Design enhanced “connection” and “disconnection”

Cons
